Ocean Immersion Itinerary 

​

In this itinerary we take to the turquoise waters exploring many of Socotra's most iconic marine locations, placing particular emphasis on the island's many dreamlike beaches, vibrant coral reefs and rich coastal communities. Whether snorkeling, learning about Socotri marine life, maritime history, or eating the freshest fish around, this itinerary is ideal for all sea-lovers and the amphibious among us. While the majority of this itinerary is dedicated to the ocean, two days will be spent in the mountainous interior of the island as well.

What you can expect to encounter: Kilometers of white-sand beaches, towering white-sand dunes, over 100 species of coral, sea-life of all different shapes and sizes, fresh lobster for lunch, dinner or both, bioluminescent dinoflagellates, and much more...

Terrestrial Focus Itinerary

On the "Terrestrial Focus Itinerary" we go inland, into the heart of the island, and the realm of the Dragon blood tree. This itinerary has stops in many of Socotra's representative highland locations ranging from rugged misty peaks to crystal clear wadi pools, and even a few days on the coast. On this itinerary one can trek through the almost mystical Dragon blood tree forest, learn about the pastoral lifestyles of native highland Socotris firsthand, or simply kick back and stay fresh in Socotra's many freshwater wadi systems.

What you can expect to encounter: Dense dragon blood tree forest, Desert rose, dramatic highland scenery, crisp mountain air, picturesque mountain villages, highland shepherd communities and much more...

2-week itineraries provide guests witht invaluable opportunity of digging deeper and better appreciateing Socotra's human and non-human inhabitants, and it's distinct geography. Such itineraries usually include a more active element such as multi-day treks, other activities, or more time spent in single locations. This allows guests to better grasp the pace and texture of life in Socotra, as well as visit novel and less explored parts of the island.

Even more-so than 2-week itineraries, longer stays give guests a taste of what integration and inhabitation on Socotra can feel like. Unfortunately, tourist visas only permit foreign guests to stay on Socotra for a maximum of 30 days. Yet, in this time, Socotra can be explored quite thoroughly giving one the chance to really begin to understand the extent Socotra's natural and cultural complexity.
